ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- iQstor Networks, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent and integrated Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, announced today at the 2005 Fall Storage Networking World Exhibition and Conference the release of the iQ2080, the industry's first 4Gb Fibre Channel (FC) storage platform with integrated enterprise-level data services for the small-to-medium size business (SMB) market.

The iQ2080 storage platform from iQstor Networks delivers the high performance, functionality and reliability required by today's demanding business and mission critical applications, at a price point that's dramatically less than current competing storage solutions. With all key internal components being hot-swappable, the iQ2080 storage platform features dual active-active storage controllers with transparent fail-over, 4 host ports, 4 disk loops, and RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 50 and 6. Up to 8GB of dynamic cache memory with battery backup for up to 72 hours and UPS cache vaulting are also available. An embedded wizard-based configuration & management GUI gives instant access to the optional integrated data services features which include: Managed Snapshot Services; Volume Copy Services; Intelligent Capacity Management; Remote Replication; and Database Application Agents. In addition, each iQ2080 houses 15 Fibre Channel disk drives in a 19" 3 RU rack mountable enclosure, providing 4.5TB of storage capacity using 300GB disk drives.

The iQ2080 is also designed to provide maximum flexibility, scalability and reliability for a myriad of applications, large and small and can by easily and dynamically scaled to over 100TB, Attaching iQstor's optional J1000 FC or J1200 SATA disk enclosures enables a tiered-storage environment, with Fibre Channel drives for primary storage and SATA drives for secondary storage. An iQ2080/J1000 FC-FC system can be configured for high I/O access information processing applications to service on-line transaction processing, enterprise resource planning, database processing, life sciences, healthcare and manufacturing needs.

Similarly, an iQ2080/J1000/J1200 FC-SATA tiered-storage system can be integrated for mixed application environments such as a virtual tape library, disk-to-disk-to-tape backup, snapshot repository or remote mirror repository. For high performance rich media applications, an iQ2080/J1200 FC-SATA combination can support throughput intensive applications including non-linear editing, HD digital film post-production, broadcast / VOD, satellite/seismic imaging and internet content delivery.
